My name is Brad Nelson.  When I was a kid and people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I told them I wanted to be an inventor.  At 28, I should probably stop saying “when I grow up”, but as I’m still working to get my big ideas off the ground, I don’t consider myself there yet.

As a self-described aspiring inventor, I should warn you that I have many of the stereotypical characteristics of many famous inventors: few social skills, poor money management habits, and there are times when working on projects that I go for days without showering, shaving, or brushing my teeth (which I don’t need to worry about because I usually forget to eat also).  It’s the worst parts of Dilbert’s telecommuting experiences.

This blog is just a little bit of advice and tidbits for fellow aspiring inventors.  In particular I hope my projects inspire high schoolers and younger kidlets to do great things.  I grew up four miles out of a town of 350 people, and there were only 80 kids in my entire high school.  Heck, the grocery store was 25 miles away.   My learning options were extremely limited, and it took me a long time to figure out how to get where I’ve always wanted to go.  So I hope I can pass on what I’ve learned to you and ease your passage into your dreams.
